Veteran? You may qualify for help with your Long Term Care

The Veterans Administration has had a lot of press as of late and most of it is pretty bad. Sometimes our big bureaucracies just cannot seem to get out of their own way. Pretty serious stuff especially if lives are lost due to inefficiencies and negligence.

In spite of the bad stuff we have been hearing there are some great opportunities that go missed when it comes to helping fund long term care needs for veterans and or surviving spouses. With the VA’s Aid and Attendance benefit one can be eligible forsoldiers-photo over $2,000 a month.  A surviving spouse could be eligible for over $1,100.00 per month towards long turn care provided both are over 65.

I know from personal experience that trying to find the best solution for an aging parent often comes down to money and remaining resources. Let’s just not leave any money on the table and make sure we look at all potential benefits in which our our loved ones qualify.
